Karen has the following problem:
“I have two golden retrievers (ages 9 months and 3 years) that love fruit and vegetables. They have completely stripped my apricot tree and have now moved on to the peaches. They eat tomatoes, strawberries, even watermelons right off the vine; they dug up all of my carrots and potatoes. Some of this problem is easily corrected by fencing in the vegetable garden, but I would really like to find the solution. Catching them in the act and screaming, “No!” has not been successful. Any advice?”
Here are a couple of tactics that may help… (more…)

Robin posted this question:
“Help! About 3 months ago I rescued a 2 year old Brittany Spaniel. We had her spayed and treated for her heartworms. Britt is great except for the fact that she will not leave my cats alone. My poor cats can no longer go in the back yard. It seems to be her mission in life to chase cats. How do I get her to live in peace with our three cats.”

Pauline T has this problem:
“My dog is constantly pulling on the leash when we are out on our walks. He also lunges at strangers and other dogs. Is there anything I can do to teach him not to do this, preferably without having to use a choke chain. Any advice will be gratefully received. Thankyou”

Lisa asked for help with her sometimes grouchy lab puppy….
“My puppy is a lab about 9months and loves people but when he is sleeping and we try to get him to get up so we can bring him in the room so he won’t roam around the house and chew everything. He will show teeth and growl even to us.He is very friendly unless he wants attention then he will nibble are hands try to get us to play. He is very active we take him swimming and walking and running daily. He is getting better except for the sleep part. Why does he do that and what can we do to correct that?”

Chris posted this question on the submission page:
“I have a 4 month old havanese who thinks every time I call her name I just want to play and she runs around like crazy. If I call her to the door to come inside, she comes right up to the door but then runs away when I try to get her. She is only playing, but it’s driving me nuts. I have 2 other dogs who come as soon as I call them, but she just doesn’t get it. Sometimes it can take 15minutes and 3 people to get her in. I know that chasing her around can’t be helping either. Any suggestions”
Here is the advice I can offer: (more…)
