Puppy Will Not Pee Outside

R.Praveen left this request for help:

“i have a 2 month old puppy he ha s learned to poop outside the problem is his peeing he pees wherever he likes in the house how can i stop it and teach him to pee outside”

Two months is still very young to expect a dog to be reliably housetrained, but it is a sign that your puppy wants to stay clean if he is pooping outside.

The ideal way forward for you is to make sure that you inplement a strict feeding and watering plan for your dog, so that you can at least have a good idea when he needs to pee and be in a position to take him out as soon as you see the signs.  It may be that you need need to keep him with you on a leash in the house  whenever you are home (at least for a few weeks) so that you are close enough to deal with it and get him where you want him to pee. It is important, too, to make sure you give your dog plenty of chance to go out to pee.  If he doesn’t go straight after a meal or drink, come in, give it ten minutes then take him back out

You can also try and coax him to toilet by soaking up some of his urine in a cloth and placing that in the spot you want him to use for toileting.  There are commercial products that emulate the scent that you can use, but the best thing is to follow my suggestion with his own scent.

Once he has started to pee outside, make sure you praise him and you will soon start to see an improvement.  If you want to start from scratch and don’t know where to start, the Ultimate Housetraining Guide is very easy to read and understand, and covers all aspects of housebreaking.  It is available as an instant download, with a few unadvertised bonuses to provide even more value for money
